SKILLS

  • Computer Skills – During my entire educational background, computers have always been present. College and University have allowed me to undertake a vast number of modules to further my knowledge base. Any computer skills I need to learn I can pick up very quickly. These skill range from physically building a computer, setting up a NAS running containerised services, and writing code.
  • Communication – During my work as a barman and assistant kickboxing instructor, I have developed my communication skills in allowing myself to directly address issues with confidence, whether that be to individuals, or large groups of people.
  • Website Development – During the transitional period between College and University, I have made several websites for people of the local area, and one for myself. I believe these websites are of good quality, and so far, the feedback from the clients who I have made the websites for have been happy.

INTERESTS AND ACHIEVEMENTS

  • I have an interest in martial arts. In November 2006, I was awarded a black belt in Taekwondo at the age of nine. During my time at the University of Leeds I took up Kickboxing, attaining the rank of black-white belt before COVID struck. I also qualified as an Assistant Instructor at Beyond Fighting Kickboxing and Krav Maga, as well as first aid trained.
  • My interest for computers continues in my free time. This includes a purpose build NAS running OpenMediaVault and also running several containerised services such as a VPN and Grafana monitoring dashboard with Prometheus and node exporter. Another project I’m working on is a Kubernetes cluster of Raspberry Pi 4B computers, which I originally constructed to host https://frichardson.co.uk.
